1. To begin, plug your Simple Switch Interface into a USB port on your computer. The unit will be recognized automatically and the relevant drivers loaded.
2. The Simple Switch Interface arrives programmed to send space and enter commands, compatible with most switch accessible activities, including all HelpKidzLearn and Inclusive software. To use the interface in this way, skip steps 3 and 4 and move directly to step 5.
3. Alternatively, the Simple Switch Interface can be configured to send either left click / right click commands, F7 / F8 commands (for Clicker software) or Gamepad 1 / Gamepad 2 (commands for Grid software). To change the unit’s settings, press and hold the red button on the bottom for 10 seconds to unlock it.
4. When unlocked, press the red button underneath the Simple Switch Interface to change the socket settings. The number of beeps emitted by the unit indicates the current setting. The number of beeps represent the switch settings as follows:
- 1 beep—Left click / right click
- 2 beeps—F7 / F8
- 3 beeps—Space / enter
- 4 beeps—Gamepad 1 / Gamepad 2
30 seconds, the unit will automatically lock on the current setting (it will beep once when it locks). Press and hold the red button for 10 seconds to unlock it again if needed.
When the switch settings have been set, the settings are remembered the next time the unit is used.
5. There are two switch sockets on the front of the unit. Wired switches can be plugged into one or both of these switch sockets. The switch sockets are labelled to indicate which socket sends which of the relative commands.
