1. When your Easy Switch Bundle first arrives, you must install the switch batteries. Use a screwdriver to remove the three screws and take off the bottom panel. Install a CR 2032 battery, then replace the switch bottom and screw it back in place.
2. Plug the dongle into a USB port on your computer. The unit will be recognized automatically and the relevant drivers loaded.
3. The first time you use your Easy Switch Bundle, you must pair the dongle to the wireless switches. After you do this initially, the pairing will be remembered by the devices. To pair the dongle with a switch, press the red button on the top of dongle and the 1st LED light will flash red, indicating it is looking for a switch to pair with.
A. Press the pair (P) button on the bottom of a switch. The 1st LED light on the dongle will continue to flash for a short time while it pairs with the switch. When the connection has been made successfully, the 1st LED light on the dongle will light steadily for 5 seconds and the letter P will show in the switch’s LED display box.
B. Press the red button on the dongle again and repeat the pairing process for the second switch.
4. The default settings for your switches are set to “space” and “enter” (codes 7 and 8). These settings will work with many switch accessible games and activities (including all HelpKidzLearn and Inclusive software). However, you may want to change the settings to one of the 24 other commands that work with the switches. These commands are shown on the cheat sheet on the bottom of the switch, along with a letter or number code for each.
A. Press the mode (M) button on the bottom of a switch, and the command code for that switch’s current setting will show in the LED display box.
B. Press the mode (M) button repeatedly until the desired command code appears on the LED display box.
C. Repeat steps A and B to change the command code of the second switch.
