Just when you thought the Smooth Talker couldn’t do any more – now it does! The affordable, reliable, and easy to use switch communicator now has even more functionality. We’ve added 3 more functions, and the power and convenience of 5 different levels! We give you, the Smooth Talker with Levels.
9 DIFFERENT MODES
The 9 playback modes of the Smooth Talker are:
- Single: Play a single message
- Sequence: Play multiple messages in order
- Random: Play multiple messages in a random order
- Random (no repeats): Play a series of messages in a random order, but once a message has been played, it is removed from the repetition. Once all messages have been played once, the series starts over.
For the following modes, connect an external switch for two-switch use
- Choice: Choose from two messages, each switch playing a different message
- Choice Progression: Choose between multiple pairs of messages, one pair at a time.
- Converse: Use with two users – one with the Smooth Talker main switch, the other with the external switch. Users alternate switch presses to play their messages back and forth to each other. When it isn’t your turn, your message won’t play if you press your switch. Ideal for turn taking skills.
- Prompt: Auditory step scanning. The external switch plays the sequence of messages at half volume. Use the external switch to “scan” to the desired message, press the Smooth Talker main switch to “select” and play that message at full volume.
- Question & Answer: Use with two users – one with the Smooth Talker main switch, the other with the external switch. One user presses the Smooth Talker main switch to speak a “question”, then the other presses the external switch to give an “answer”, then repeat this process with more questions and answers. Before moving on, users can repeat their question or answer multiple times, allowing for reiteration and reinforcement.
5 LEVELS
5 levels make it possible to prerecord a collection of messages for use throughout the day. For simplicity, these levels are initially assigned to the specific mode that you recorded them in. For example, you record the numbers 1 through 6 into level 4, designed to be used in random mode for dice emulation. Therefore, when you move to level 4, the Smooth Talker automatically changes to random mode also, without you having to manually do so. However, if you want to use those numbers for counting instead, simply remain in level 4 and switch to sequence mode.
8 MINUTES RECORDING TIME
The Smooth Talker now has a massive 8 minutes of recording time! Spread this time out over messages however you so choose.
EXTERNAL SWITCH CONNECTION
Choice, Choice Progression, Converse, Auditory Prompt, and Question & Answer modes require the use of an external switch. A switch jack on the back of the device is compatible with any standard wired switch. The Smooth Talker with Levels is also part of the SimplyWorks range, meaning it can be paired with a SimplyWorks wireless switch for a completely wireless solution.
If a user requires a specialized switch as an alternative access method (ex. pressure switch, grasp switch, etc.), this switch can be plugged into the standard switch jack and used in place of the Smooth Talker main switch in sequence or random mode.
TOY AND APPLIANCE CONTROL
The Smooth Talker with Levels can also be used to operate switch adapted toys and electrical appliances. Toy or appliance output can be added to any message, and it can be chosen on a message by message basis during the recording process. Toys can be connected through a standard toy socket on the back on the Smooth Talker. Also, as part of the SimplyWorks range, the Smooth Talker with Levels can be paired with a SW-Control or SW-Control Pro for more wireless toy control, or it can be paired with an iClick for electrical appliance control.
RECHARGEABLE
Say bye-bye to batteries! The Smooth Talker with Levels is rechargeable it comes with a built in rechargeable lithium battery, which you can charge from any USB socket using a USB to USB mini cable (supplied). The device can still be used during the charging process.
